ASESSOR
Prof. Diego Rosso, Ph.D.
Dr. Diego Rosso is an international consultant recognised for his expertise in aeration system diagnostics, energy efficiency, carbon footprint analysis, and wastewater treatment process sustainability. Diego has applied aeration diagnostics, carbon footprint and energy analysis at numerous plants, including aeration system design/upgrade/renovation, facility/process energy audits, energy efficiency and benchmarking of treatment processes, carbon footprint analysis of treatment processes and biosolids disposal options, infrastructure climate.

In addition to conducting hundreds of oxygen transfer tests on activated sludge aeration systems and aerobic digesters, Diego conducted the first aeration efficiency investigations on biological aerated filters, integrated fixed film activated sludge processes, aerobic granular processes and post-anaerobic digestion. Diego has served as an Advisor to our consulting team on numerous aeration system evaluation, design and simulation/control projects.
Diego has been a Trustee of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and serves on the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Oxygen Transfer Committee. Diego has co-authored numerous books and technical publications.
Diego is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine (USA), where he is also Director of the Water-Energy Nexus Center.
ASSOCIATE
Juan F. Van Den Broeck
Juan is an Environmental Engineer, graduated from the Catholic University of Argentina. He is an international expert in wastewater treatment and climate change.
Juan has extensive experience in the evaluation and optimisation of wastewater treatment plants, including energy efficiency improvement and carbon footprint reduction. He has extensive practice in the development and evaluation of financing proposals for climate change mitigation and adaptation projects related to water and sanitation, agriculture and natural resources.
