Daniel A. Nolasco, Founding Partner and President, is a specialist in water, sanitation, and environment. Mr. Nolasco has managed water utilities and consulted for various industries, governments, international financial institutions, NGOs, regulatory agencies, and research centres, managing projects and multi-disciplinary teams in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Daniel A. Nolasco has a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires, a Master in Environmental Engineering from McMaster University (Canada) and a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he specialized in technology strategy and project finance. He also took courses in Project Finance at Harvard Business School.

Prior to founding Nolasco & Associates, Mr. Nolasco spent four years as Project Manager with EXXON, eight years as Senior Process Engineer with CH2M HILL four years as Principal with Hydromantis, Inc. (Canada), and was Quality and Process Manager for Azurix Buenos Aires.

As a consultant, Mr. Nolasco was Project Manager for several water, sanitation, and environmental projects, some of which won international awards: the “Evaluation & Optimization of Toronto’s Main Treatment Plant” resulted in capital expenditure savings of over U$S150 million, was nominated for the Governor General of Canada Award (Shreyer Award) and won the Award of Merit from the Canadian Consulting Engineers (1994); the “Retrofit of the City of Lethbridge Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Step Bio-P Process for Biological Nutrient Removal” won the Consulting Engineers of Alberta Award of Merit (2001). In 1998, Mr. Nolasco received from the Water Environment Federation (USA) and the Water Research Centre (UK) the WRc Travel Fellowship Award to research benchmarking of water utilities in the UK.

Daniel A. Nolasco has produced over 60 publications in books, technical journals, magazines, and conference proceedings and has been invited to give seminars and training courses in organizations and universities worldwide.

Mr. Nolasco is a widely recognized for his work in process optimization and for the development of dynamic simulation models. He is co-inventor of the Step Bio-P process for biological nutrient removal (U.S. Patent No. 08/174,350).

Mr. Nolasco is a Director and a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Water Environment Federation. He is also a member of the Water Environment Association of Ontario, the Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering of Argentina (AIDIS), the International Water Association (IWA) and the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

Mr. Nolasco is a Professional Engineer in Ontario and in Argentina.

Daniel Nolasco is a Canadian and Argentine Citizen and has full command of English and Spanish, plus knowledge of Portuguese and French.
